Hello,
I am looking for a minister who was at Central Baptist Church in the late 1979 to early 1980 name Bill Foster (William Foster). He use to be active with the “Teens for Christ” school club at Kubasaki High School at that time. I think he moved to Michigan after leaving Okinawa. If any one knows his contact, please let me know. Bill was great mentor and want to see how he is doing today.

We would love to have you worship with us on Easter. The schedule is as follows:

0600 Sunrise Service
0630ish Breakfast please come and fellowship and eat with us.
0800 We will be showing a DVD in the sanctuary (I believe it is about the Resurrection)
0930 Sunday School
1040 Morning Service

Hello Central Baptist,

I am in Okinawa with my husband who is working on several of the bases. This is his third trip and I was able to join him and that is exciting for me as I’ve never been here before. We are staying at the Eagle Lodge on 23. Would it be possible for us to attend Easter Sunday services? Is the schedule the same as what is posted on your Web Site. Another employee drives the van but I’m hoping she would also like to attend so we will have transportation.

Hello,
May husband and I will be in Okinawa for three weeks beginning March 29. We hope to join you for worship services. We are members of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church in Earlysville (a few miles from Charlottesville) VA. My husband will be there to work and I’m a retired teacher and I will be there to enjoy the beautiful area and the people. I don’t speak the language so that will be I problem.

If you have any tips on things I can do while he is at work I would love to hear from you. I hope we will meet at worship services.

I appologize for getting back to you sooner. We have made some changes tot he website and it apperes notifications were not modified.

This Christmas, we had a one hour service on the 25th. This year we wanted to keep it simple. New Years Day will be the same thing a one hour service starting at 11:00.

I was there the same time as you and was stationed at Kadena AFB. I met someone that is still very close to my heart and have lost contact. If you have any knowledge of or them or know where the family may be please feel free to call me or write to the above e-mail. The Family was the Euliitte family that were in the area at the time and I’d spent a small time as I call it in my time I was there. With there very adourable and lovely daughter Polly. I joined Central Baptist in 1962. I had never been involved in a church that was so like a New Testement church before. What a wonderful bunch of people. I made friends that are still with me until this day.
Central Baptist was a Godsend for me. He used this group to help me through some rough times and grew me into a more productive Christian.
I have served, with my wife, in the concert ministry, the pastorate, and in Southern Baptist denominational work over the years. I have written a book and my wife an I have recorded seven albums of Christian music. The influence of the Godly people of Central Baptist played a major part in preparing and equipping me for this work. I will forever be indebted to this church.
I plan to have a grand reunion with many of you when I get to Heaven

I was stationed on Okinawa for only 6 months in later 1972 and early 1973. But they were powerful months. The Army thought they were sending me there, but it was a God thing. AWOL was a “big” influence in my life & I was called to preach during that time. Dr & Mrs Golding were great with me, tolerating alot of immaturity…& Pastor Hix too. How I thank God for that “nesting” time. some people I met there, I have reconnected with. One person I became friends with, I lost cotact with. Later, he ended up marrying into my family (a cousin)! How incredible was that!! Well, Central Baptist was sure a milestone in my life, even 40 years later and in ministry myself, I give God praise for all those people who were loving to me & kind to a poor, wandering GI, who desperately wanted more of God….& found it on a little isle.

I was saved on April 29, 1962 because of the ministry at Central Baptist Okinawa when assigned to the Marine helicopter/observation unit at Futema Marine Air Facility. A deacon had brought me back to my billet when he showed me a marked new testament. I am very very thankful for such a prayer soaked ministry there, and I tell my story on my website listed above. Eleven years later, after I had served in Vietnam and joined the army, getting the training to be an officer because of my Marine training, I could return to Okinawa for a little longer tour. I had married Helen from Texas and we had two daughters Joy and Patsy who are already forty-ish and have children of their own. After I became an ordained deacon, I helped lead my own daughter to confess the Lord as her own, be baptized, and join us in church membership.

Helen served as youth leader for the AWOL teen group, while I picked up the slack to drive the bus for their outings.
